Since its launch in 2002, the consortium has developed and promoted new concepts that are now integrated with industry practices: integrated management of the value chain, collaborative business planning, management mechanisms for demand and revenues, etc.

Mission

FORAC research consortium, a strong partnership between forest products industry stakeholders (Université Laval, companies and governments), aims to be a Canadian and international standard recognized for its achievements and collaboration dynamics. In order to improve Quebec’s forest products industry competitiveness, the consortium designs, develops and validates business models, decision support methods and technologies for the design and management of innovative value creation networks in a sustainable development perspective. Teachers, students and professionals perform quality research in partnership with members, in an interdisciplinary university framework.

The consortium carries out its mission by grounding its actions on the following core values: excellence, networking, relevance, and communication. FORAC offers its partners the development of leading-edge knowledge and solutions, their transfer, and training of highly qualified students in the field of business engineering applied in the context of the forest products industry.

 

Objectives

FORAC research consortium is working to achieve the following objectives:

  2. Train highly qualified people in these areas of expertise
  3. Contribute to the advancement of companies in the forest products industry
